Collaboration for Innovative Practices

Through collaborative efforts and unique approaches, The Water Connection drives innovative solutions addressing current and future water challenges. We bring together resources from education, government and the private sector for a multi-sector approach to projects and challenges.

As the water resources arm of The Greenway Foundation, TWC is leading an innovative and collaborative drive to maximize the Chatfield Environmental Pool. This project represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to provide additional flow in the South Platte River through Metro Denver, utilizing the recently established environmental pool within the recently approved Chatfield Reallocation Project. Key partners include: Chatfield Reallocation Project, Colorado Parks & Wildlife, Colorado Water Conservation Board, Denver Water, and Central Colorado Water Conservancy District. It will serve as a model project that provides multiple benefits for multiple users, and will serve as a model for meeting our regional water resource challenges.

Offering services to partners including Colorado State University and the City and County of Denver in the creation of the new CSU Water Center on the National Western Center site – a major redevelopment project incorporating net zero energy and waste principles and celebrating the site’s prime location along the South Platte River Greenway.
